Thuya burl is the pinnacle of desire and luxury. Coming from Morocco, this wood is a rich caramel color with swirling grain and tiny knots known as eyes. The iridescent swirls in the grain will appear to move as you rotate the pen in the sunlight.   It is a member of the cypress family and is very aromatic though the acrylic finish prevents the aroma from lasting.  It has long been used in incense and perfumes especially in ancient Greece.   The appointments have a brilliant rhodium finish with black titanium accents.  The nib has a medium point, is German made, and has an iridium tip for the finest writing experience.  Should you choose the rollerball, it will come filled with a Schmidt or Schneider insert which are the most common sizes.  Replacements are available at most office supply retailers. Grand Quatrain is pictured in this photo. The smaller Quatrain has less detail in the central band.
