Quatrain fountain pen or rollerball - violet and mother of pearl

This fountain pen was the prototype for a pen commissioned by a federal judge. I liked it so much that I decided to share it with everyone. It is hand made from macassar ebony and the violet is hand painted with silver leaf. The pollen cone is inlayed with mother of pearl. The flower is based on a period piece of jewelry which has been in our family for a couple of generations. I feel this pen embodies understated elegance. I have chosen rhodium (platinum) and black titanium accents to frame this elegant piece. The nib is German made, and has an iridium tip for an exceptional writing experience. It accepts an international ink cartridge which you can find at any office supply retailer, or if you prefer to fill your fountain pen from an inkwell, I have included a piston type converter. Should you choose the rollerball, it will come filled with a Schmidt or Schneider insert which are the most commonly available sizes.  You can find replacements at most office supply retailers.
